Jammie Hays

Why did you join the MRFC? I joined because I wanted to do something to serve my community.

Years of Service: 30

Background in fire: I started at East Lansdowne in 1995 after I graduated High School where I held multiple positions through the years from Engineer to Deputy Chief. I worked as a Fire Captain at the Sunoco Phila. Refinery for 5 years. Joined Legacy Company 42 (Collingdale #2) which is now known as Collingdale Fire Co. Station 33 in 2006 where I held the positions of Safety Officer, Captain, and President where I still am currently a member. I joined Morton Rutledge in 2021 after moving to Morton. I’ve held several positions since joining from Asst. Engineer, Captain, and currently Deputy Chief.

What is your life like outside the firehouse? I am happily married to my wife, Christina, who is also the President of the fire company. I am the father of 5 awesome children, 3 boys and 2 girls. I work full-time for Crozer Paramedics as an EMT, and as a Firefighter/EMT for Eddystone Fire Co. Sta. 12. I am also a Mummer who parades every New Year’s with Hog Island NYA. I like to hang out with family and friends and play golf when I can.

Fun fact about you: I am a graduate of Franklin Learning Center where I studied the arts including drawing and the performing arts.
