Shawn Hays

Why did you join the MRFC? I joined because my brother recruited me to help get more qualified interior firefighters to strengthen the rank-and-file members of the organization. 

Years of Service: 30

Background in fire: I have held multiple positions in the fire service ranging from Ambulance Lieutenant, Fire Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, and Vice President. I have multiple classes in many disciplines of rescue (BVRT, Confined Space, High Angle, Elevator Rescue Ops). I also worked as a Haz Mat Technician for a company providing Haz Mat clean up all across the United States. 

What is your life like outside the firehouse? When not at the firehouse I work in construction as a Union Glazier and also as an EMT for Crozer Health. I enjoy playing softball, playing golf, and hanging out with my kids at the firehouse. I also enjoy doing the New Year's Day parade with Hog Island NYA. I also enjoy going to concerts and getting tattoos.
